Project Car
When brainstorming about our new project car, we decided that we would incorporate a relatively inexpensive engine conversion.
Although a four-wheel drive twin-engined, tubo'd, 1000bhp Golf Mk2 might be cool, it is hardly affordable or practical for everyday use.
So we decided to use a readily available, easily affordable, strong and reliable engine with forced induction because of the potential for sizeable power increases.
We agreed on a 1995 SEAT Ibiza due to its lightness and strength and because it utilises Golf Mk2 running gear for ease of gearbox, engine and brake fitment.
The car will incorporate many of the new products now available to us and it is intended the engine unit will be made available for GolfMk1, Mk2 and Mk3 as a more affordable and unique alternative to the 1.8T but still offering good horse power from the smaller engine together with lower insurance premiums.
