Fitting a Hi-Flow Cat can reduce the strangulation caused by a standard exhaust system but when fitted with a sports exhaust back pressure is reduced even more with a consequent inmprovement in power and torque.
For example a Milltek Sport Hi-Flow Sports Cat fully integrated into a large bore downpipe, has only 100-200 cpsi depending on application with an an open area of between 75-85% compared with typically 400 or 600 cells per square inch and an open area of around 55-65% in an OE cat.



Hi-Flow cats substantially reduce back pressure and increase flow rates; very desirable for extracting more performance, especially on turbocharged engines whilst maintaining emission levels at legal limits - by-passing the cat is a thing of the past with Hi-Flow Sports cats from Jetex and Milltek.
